EMC’s continued growth has resulted in a need to grow our team. Supporting our regional, provincial, and national efforts, the Manufacturing Consortium Manager will provide facilitated professional support to manufacturing employers throughout the region, as well as acting as the main connection between EMC’s member organizations, manufacturing stakeholders and communities, EMC’s network, resources, programs, services, and special initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, develop, and grow relationships throughout EMC’s manufacturing audiences (including manufacturing firms (both members and non-members), manufacturing stakeholders, community, and government partners.)
  • Manage and facilitate consortium and network activities, through regional strategic interest groups (SIGs) delivered in-person, onsite and/or virtual online venues. Organize tours and benchmarking opportunities regionally, which help members collaborate and learn new ideas on existing and often longstanding challenges.
  • Provide on-going support to membership employers/contacts and partners and be the consortium ‘connector / go-to’ for addressing information gaps, assess and monitor industry needs and find consortium solutions.
  • Facilitate growth of EMC’s consortium networks.
  • Build awareness and connections to EMC’s resources, value-added programs, and manufacturing initiatives; and
  • Liaise with community partners/government at all levels (including economic development, local labour market and training partners, various government representatives, sector councils and academia, etc.).
  • Liaise and build relationships with all EMC internal Teams.

Experience / Essential Functions:

  • Proven growth mindset, entrepreneurial and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated relationship development skills that achieve “win-win” scenarios.
  • Dynamic, personable, and forward-thinking leader with strong Interpersonal skills and top-notch communication skills including listening, verbal, and written skills, capable of relating one-to-one and one-to-many, from production through to C-levels.
  • Post secondary education and 5+ years of relevant and relatable experience in the manufacturing sector, which may include team management, facilitation, Human Resources, etc.
  • Manufacturing experience, including best practices, continuous improvement and operational excellence experience is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is essential as well as the desire and ability to sell.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with an ability to handle a variety of deadlines and activities concurrently.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database management and CRM tools are an asset.
  • Self-directed with the capacity to identify and define problems and develop solutions while under minimal direction.

Physical Demands & Conditions:

  • Combination of in-the-field work (including onsite meetings, event facilitation and members visits) and office administrative work.
  • Travel needs within the region comprise approximately 30-40% of time (varies) with assigned territory.
  • Flexible schedule required to respond to industry needs. Includes working from home office; and
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
